CE mark

All product CE marked

Since 2nd February 2010 CE mark is required by law also on entrance doors, while for garage and double leaf doors it was compulsory still since 1st May 2005.

CE mark refers to the European directive CPD (Construction Production Directive or Directive of Construction Products) 89/106/CE, that defines new obligations and responsibilities for Producers of all building products. The Italian law DPR No. 246/93 dated 21st April 1993, which put into validity the European directive (all European norms always need to be 'translated' into laws in every country of the European Union), makes compulsory for the manufacturers to test their products (some tests are compulsory, some other optional) at laboratories notified for this activity at European level.

The industry norm is to test efficiency before any durability tests have been undertaken. Even when manufacturers do carry out durability tests, those do not usually exceed 5.000 cycles. Silvelox is unique in the world in that it tests the security of its doors after 20.000 cycles of movement.

The norm of product used (UNI EN 13241-1) contains the list of many requirements the door must have in order to obtain CE mark. Among these the most important and compulsory are:

  • MECHANICAL RESISTANCE
  • GEOMETRY OF GLASS PARTS
  • EMC (electromagnetic compatibility)
  • RELEASE OF DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES
  • SAFE OPENING
  • FUNCTIONING FORCES
  • SAFETY DEVICES
  • RESISTANCE TO WIND LOAD
  • PRODUCTION CHECK IN FACTORY

In addition to the above, Silvelox has certified its garage doors for:

  • THERMAL TRANSMITTANCE
  • BURGLAR RESISTANCE

Irrespective of their size, all Silvelox doors fully comply with European requirements and regulations.

The European directive CPD also establishes that each certified door is recognised by a label and a Declaration of Conformity. On the label, applied on all Silvelox garage, entrance and double leaf doors, CE mark indicates that legal requirements have been fulfilled.

A further certification about Silvelox product quality and the assurance that our doors fully comply with the latest European Directives.
